SFC update on COVID-19

To our valued Members and Supporters

Following a meeting of the six metropolitan community leagues today, including the EDFL, EFNL, NFNL, SFNL, VAFA and WRFL, the decision has been made to manage the COVID-19 issue for community football, netball and umpiring with a staged approach. A collective decision has been made to postpone all competitions including practice matches until the weekend of Saturday, May 2, 2020. The Leagues will re-convene on Tuesday, April 14 to review and/or confirm this commencement date, subject to the status of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Strathmore Football Club Executive will reconvene after the April 14 leagues meeting to reassess our position. In the interim we wish to reiterate our priority is the health, safety and welfare of all players, coaches, administrators, spectators and their families. As such the Strathmore Football Club will not open until at least April 16 and as per our previous statement, we are suspending ALL senior and junior training, games and events.

We will continue to monitor this fluid situation and consider advice from the Government and EDFL/AFL and provide updates as we have them.
