I found this photo in my collection which is of importance to our memorabilia, it was taken by Alec (Big Red) Reddish in either 1974/75. In the photo are Peter (Pecka) Ransome roving the ball,Tony Farrall in the ruck and umpire Alan Dell.

Peter (Pecka) Ransome, our BEST CLUB MAN is named in his honour, was nicknamed PECKA after the cartoon character woody wood PECKER because he never shut up.He played in our first u/13 premiership in 1967 coached by life member Col Morrison, continued through the junior ranks and played in our open age B grade premiership in 1971 coached by Ian Ward.He also played open age A grade in 1974/75.In 1974(i think) he played in the 1974 A grade reserves premiership coached by life member Chris Wheeler. While still playing took on the u/13 coaching position.PECKA joined the general committee at a early age and ran most of the social functions at that time.

PECKA was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident in 1975 going home from a club function,a young life taken before his time.

Tony Farrall, the STRATHMORE BEST JUNIOR CLUB PERSON award is named in his honor.Tony played in the u/13 1969 premiership coached by life member Col Morrison.i am sure Tony played in another junior premiership but the year escapes me.Tony went on and played open age football in 1974/75/76 and acquitted himself well, like Pecka he also joined the committee at a early age and worked tirelessly to make us a better club.

Unfortunately Tony suffered the same fate as Pecka and in mid 1976 was also killed in a car accident.

Alan Dell the umpire, played in the early sixties and was a member of our first open age B grade in 1967 coached by life member Geoff Muller, when he retired he took up umpiring in the E D F L which was quite comical because when he played he loved abusing the umpires but when he become one he had a low tolerance on anyone who abused him. Alan was a nomination in our FIFTY YEAR TEAM.Alan’s greatest claim to fame was he introduced the legendary Wally Abraham to the club.Alan his enjoying his retirement living in Torquay and is heavily involved in the surf life saving club.
